LAND:
The sub-division application is with the planner at provincial admin, having been sent there from the Khayelitsha District Office, with a recommendation for approval. SASDI is monitoring progress. Once this has been approved the land can be transferred.
PLANS:
The plans have progressed well and a design brief has been compiled and discussed. Sketch plans have been shown to the staff at Elukhuselweni and the Managers and some good feedback was received. For the most part though, everyone seems very happy with the plans.
FUNDRAISING:
Donations totalling R4.3 million of the required R9.8 million have been raised so far including significant donations from The Dame Hillary Cropper Foundation, Glencor, WSP, Rod Palmer Architects, Kraaifontein Fencing and Steel and Garth van Collier.
This project is very much on the move and gaining momentum all the time! If you have any ideas or comments, please post them below. To all those involved, keep up the great work!
